Maybe these observations are a product of my imagination? In any case, my color intuition is also thoroughly embedded in the knowledge that I have gained doing brain research many years ago.
I studied our visual system and the way we direct our attention. The way we percieve objects and how they can create depth or distract us. And how color affects all this.”
“De kleurkeuzes in mijn schilderijen en tekeningen zijn gebaseerd op de waarneming. Een hint van mint wordt een groene huid, een lavendel teint een paarse vlek. Of zijn die vleugjes een product van mijn fantasie? In ieder geval is mijn kleurintuïtie ook grondig gebed in de kennis die ik jaren geleden heb opgedaan tijdens hersenonderzoek naar ons visuele systeem”, zegt Jochem over zijn kleurgebruik.
